Bird Quest SBF3G 17" Spiral Seed Bird Feeder - Green Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased one of these feeders a couple of years ago and the birds love it. I ordered another one last week and found that the company has re-designed the seed ports. Now all the seed rapidly pours out of the ports, wasting the seed. I attached one of the plastic trays to the feeder and the seed just piles up in mounds. I think the only seed mix that would work would be a jay/squirrel mix.

Solar Crackle Ball Bird Feeder Review

(More customer reviews)This is the third solar crackle ball bird feeder that I have purchased - the other 2 were purchased a couple of years ago and the style has changed slightly. Instead of 4 small exposed lights in the top, the lights are enclosed in tubes that run down each corner. I think that this change will protect the lights. One of the older models has had a light damaged by the birds or squirrels. These feeders hold up very well and the older feeders stay lit for a long time each evening. I have never had to recharge or change the batteries.

The Onyx feeder is easy to fill, has minimal waste, and attracts only finches and goldfinches. I've tried other nyjer (thistle) feeders, and they just ignore them. This one they like. In my yard, a fill lasts 2-3 weeks.

They are attracted by the color and I've had as many as 7 Hummers feeding at one time at this feeder. They can sit and feed and hang out too, which they often do. It's easy to clean with a brush and the bottom comes apart for simple, quick, and thorough cleaning. I have two.

Heritage Farms Corn Trapper Squirrel Feeder Review

(More customer reviews)I had this type of feeder, and a squirrel got its hand stuck in the bottom of the spiral. The squirrel had to rip its hand off to free itself. I saw it struggle to free itself for at least ten minutes. Its hand was still stuck in the feeder after it got away. Please do not purchase this type of feeder.

Bird Quest TAS1 Twirl-a-Squirrel Electronic Bird Feeder Baffle Review

(More customer reviews)Here is a rough video from my point and shoot camera of the Twirl A Squirrel I purchased in action. The thing stopped spinning mercifully to let the second squirrel jump off. I am using a squirrel resistant feeder ( cage drops down from squirrel's weight to close seed openings )and it still works great. They don't even try to jump on any more and have to depend on whatever the birds throw out to scavenge...I wound up using an all thread rod through the top of the feeder to transmit the torque from the twirler as it broke a clothes hanger rod I had fashioned. 100% satisfied!!!

The instructions included with the shipment advised me to contact the mercahnt for a return identification number. I have contacted the merchant a number of times by e-mail and I have not been successful at getting any return instructions.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this feeder to replace my existing sunflower feeder, which I loved, but it was falling apart. This one is very well built and I like the cover, which keeps the rain off the feeder itself. I also like the fact that it's not painted, so there is no peeling paint or chips. However, there is one problem - the birds really struggle to get the seeds through the mesh. I'm not sure if that is because the seed that I buy is too big, or the mesh holes are too small. This did not happen with the old feeder and I'm hoping over time the mesh will relax a little and allow for easier access. Overall I think it's a great feeder

Also, the leaf dish is supposed to hold bird seed, but there is a small hole drilled into it! Not a big deal though.

no moldy mess! Should last a lifetime! Squirrels are VERY challenged by this...depending on how it is hung the birds are going to be top dog!!!

(More customer reviews)"My bird feeder!", I thought with glee. I rushed to open it and it was better than I had anticipated. The wood is smooth and beautiful, a true work of art. The panels are glass, not plastic, and the pincone hanging on the bottom of it to ward off chipmunks was the perfect look for my mountain home. I have hung it just outside my kitchen window and anticipate a long cold winter ahead, but the promise of a show from birds outside my window helps me face the snowy season with courage. The instruction booklet inside explains the habits of birds and how to care for them and I am beginning to think maybe this could be the beginning of a new hobby! Betty
